Primavera Regency Wedding Photos: Francesca and Alex
The Primavera Regency played host to Francesca & Alex’s wedding memories. Working with Francesca and Alex was so much fun and I enjoyed getting to know them as a couple! Francesca looked stunning in her Oleg Cassini wedding gown. She did not feel any nerves leading up to her wedding day because she always knew Alex was the one. Her most special moment of the day was seeing Alex’s reaction to her walking towards him at the Alter. For their theme, they tried to join their cultures together and stayed neutral with their black, pink and white/invory color choices.
Read more below to learn about this amazing couple and check out their awesome Primavera Regency wedding photos!

How did you choose your wedding day look?
Francesca’s goal was bright and simple yet elegant. The makeup artist used purple tones to brighten up the green in my eyes, we went with an updo to avoid me being uncomfortable throughout the day. Alex was easy, he didn’t require much. He stuck with his glossy Calvin Klein shoes and a simple black Movado watch to match his black Calvin Klein tuxedo.

Tell us about your proposal?
Alex proposed to me the day before our 8 year anniversary. We went to dinner at Rebecca’s in Edgewater for Cuban food. We were running late, so when I called they kept saying the reservation was for four but it was only us two…after a malfunction in the kitchen we waited over an hour for dinner. Alex was texting consistently throughout the night and after I finally complained, I went to the bathroom. When I come out his best friend(best man) and my old friend were there and I was so confused. Obviously, they were part of the plan and had come with the flowers and ring. It all worked out in the end!

How did you decorate your space, was any part DIY?
Some of the decorations came from the bridal shower party(initials behind sweetheart table). The garland on the sweetheart table was from Target. The backdrop was a DIY project, Alex made the structure and I decorated it with fabric and flowers. The banner of “Mr & Mrs. Khidre” was a customized banner from Walmart.
What were your flowers like in your wedding?
We did white, plush pink and hot pink roses with greeny leaves. The centerpieces were hydrangeas with twigs. They were simple which is what I wanted.

Did you personalize your day in any way and what were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
Besides the belly dancer, Liz Layla, and surprise birthday cake for Alex, we did not have anything else. My favorite part was definitely the whole thing but the ceremony and memory video were two of my favorite. I loved the memory table of all our family members who have passed.
Do you have wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share?
Relax and go with the flow, it all works out in the end.

Sterling Ballroom Wedding

It was definitely a great experience capturing Lauren & Juan’s dual themed, Anchor/Superhero wedding day. Whether it was their family and friends, their awesome makeup/hair pros, Danielle & Gina or the staff at Sterling Ballroom, the atmosphere was so relaxed and fun. So much so, that we decided to have a second photo shoot on the beach in their wedding gear when it was much less crowded.
**Lauren & Juan      Sterling Ballroom Wedding**
~How did you choose your wedding day look?
My first dress shopping trip to David’s Bridal, we picked out 6-8 dresses. I tried them all on but there was one in particular that just felt like a better fit, so I tried it on again. The DB consultant brought over accessories and that is where I found the jeweled belt that was sewn onto my dress. I chose an Ivory A-line strapless dress that has ruching from top to bottom. The Groom chose a charcoal Calvin Klein suit with an Ivory vest from Macy’s.
~Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?
To combine the interests of the bride & groom, we had two themes for our wedding. Our invitations and the front of our cake revolved around anchors which symbolize strength, Juan served in the Navy and we both like going out on the boat. The second theme revolved around superheros, where the groomsmen were given superhero cufflinks, the back of our wedding cake was decorated with the Captain America & Wonder Woman symbols and our cake topper was superheros as well. The color palette was Navy and Gray.
~How did you decorate your space for the ceremony & reception?
Bride’s house had a flower centerpiece similar to that of her bouquet. The place card holders at the venue were DIY, cork base where we wrote our names and the date of the wedding. During the cake cutting, the children were given masks to wear as if they were superheros.
~What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
Our favorite part of the wedding was EVERYTHING!! Even with being nervous walking down the aisle or saying our vows, those two moments were two of the best parts of our day. Taking pictures at the beach was amazing, especially since we had beautiful weather. Once at Sterling Ballroom, the food was delicious, the wedding cake looked amazing from Chocolate Carousel and our first dance was perfect. The time went extremely fast and we wish we could live that day all over again.
~What was your most anticipated or special moment for your wedding day?
Most anticipated for the bride was seeing the grooms reaction when I walked down the aisle, saying my vows to him and our first dance. For the groom it was seeing the brides dress and hearing her vows.
~Any advice for couples?
Map out your due dates, keep a list of things needed to be completed, don’t sweat the small stuff and keep an eye on the bigger picture. Enjoy every minute of planning and don’t rush the time away because the day of your wedding will go extremely fast and even if there are hiccups along the way, brush them off and have fun because the important part is that you’re marrying the love of your life.

Top of the Rock Proposal
Proud to share Mariam & Peter’s featured proposal on
MARIAM AND PETER’S NYC ROOFTOP PROPOSAL
how we met
Mariam and I first met at our Alma Mater, NJIT. There was a bowling event for one of the clubs we were both members of, Coptic Society. Unfortunately, Mariam and I didn’t bowl in the same lane or anywhere next to each other. As a matter of fact, I was bowling in the first lane while she was bowling in the very last lane. The only reason I knew this was because I couldn’t stop staring at her, while trying to not creep her out. As the night went on, I tried to approach her area numerous times and start up some small talk but I couldn’t get myself to do it. Funny part here is that I can usually spark up a conversation with anybody about any topic without hesitation.
As the night came to an end and I still had not said one word to Mariam, the club announced the highest scoring individuals. To my surprise, Mariam’s name was called and all I could think to say was, “Wait, a girl won?” Yeah, I know … real mature! As she gave me a not so pleasant look and said, “Yes a girl won!” I used that to my advantage to spark up a conversation, which we continued until after the event was over, and even for a couple of hours after that since I decided to ask her to dinner … luckily she said yes.
I don’t think I could ever forget how much I laughed that night and how conversation with her was so enjoyable. I didn’t want the night to end. All I knew was I had never felt like this towards anyone and I knew I would chase after this girl for as long as I had too in order to make sure she was mine.
Definitely the smartest decision I’ve ever made in my life!
how he asked
Peter had mentioned to me that his job was having a “New Years” party on January 9th. I thought this was suspicious since the party was about a week after new years, but I went along with it anyway. Peter could sense I was doubting his story so he said he would send me the invite to show this was a valid event. He created a fake e-invite of the “party” and included all of the information he had mentioned to me. After seeing this, I believed him and was excited because he tells me the party is on the 70th floor at Top of the Rock, which has amazing views of the entire city.
The “party” was supposed to start at 8 p.m. but since we got there a little earlier, we decided we would both check out the views and take some pictures. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted on the 67th floor by a man named Will, who claimed to be a photographer for Top of The Rock, and asked if we wanted to take photos. We agreed and took a couple pictures on that floor. As soon as we finished taking pictures, a woman walks up to me with a small card inside of an envelope and asks if we are going to the 70th floor. After saying yes, she asks me “Would you please give this to the girl in the blue dress?” Even though I remembered thinking this was extremely odd, especially since I was also wearing a blue dress, I agreed. Next, we went to the 69th floor which had an even better view of the city. As we were taking a selfie, the same photographer comes up to us and asks if we wanted to take more pictures, and again we agreed. As soon as Will finished taking pictures, a man walks up to us and again asks if we are going to the 70th floor. After saying yes, he hands me a small envelope and asks if I would “please give this envelope to the pretty girl in the blue dress on the 70th floor?” Thinking this was odd, I asked Peter what was going on and attempted to open them to see what was inside the envelopes, but Peter wouldn’t let me and told me they are not for me and not to open them.
Finally, we decide we would go upstairs to the 70th floor where I assumed the party was taking place. As Peter and I were standing looking at the incredible views, a woman approaches us and hands me a third envelope and says “This is for you” and walks away. At this point, Peter looks at me and admits I was the girl in the blue dress and that the cards were meant for me. As I started to open the envelopes and read them, I couldn’t help but smile and started to tear. The last note read, “I can’t imagine my life without you”. Peter handed me a small photo album which had pictures going as far back as 8 years prior, which was the beginning of our relationship.
As we stood together looking at the album, I couldn’t help but cry at how many memories we have had together and how special that moment felt. As soon as I felt like this moment couldn’t get any better, Peter grabbed me and told me he had something to tell me. We stood on the roof deck with a beautiful view for a beautiful moment. Peter got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
special thanks

Liberty State Park Engagement Photos

Katie & Marc were not sure where to have their engagement shoot having recently moved up from Philly but when I told them about the great aspects Liberty State Park had to offer along with the great view of the NYC skyline, the decision was easily made. I really enjoyed taking Katie & Marc’s Liberty State Park engagement photos. Despite the heavy clouds, the weather cooperated and we took full advantage.
Katie & Marc met when they both worked at La Salle University in Philadelphia. They hung out and it evolved into something much more.
Marc proposed at the spot where they first met, which was the parking lot at La Salle that Katie picked him up at to begin his interview. He kept it nice and personal with only the two of them present to enjoy the moment.
They both are most excited to celebrate and share their wedding day with their family & friends at a beautiful vineyard in NJ.
To conclude our shoot, Marc made sure to celebrate his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Championship by having shirts ready for Katie & himself. I can’t wait to photograph these two lovebirds’ wedding.

Sea Bright Beach Engagement Photos

I really enjoyed taking Maritza & Wil’s engagement photos. With the purpose of creating their wedding save the dates, Maritza & Wil chose Sea Bright Beach as the location for their engagement session on this beautiful day in September. Everything about the day worked in our favor, be it the comfortable temperature, the few clouds that helped to block the sun and prevent a lot of squinting in the photos and especially the beach not being so packed with people.
In 2014, Wil proposed to Maritza on the beach while on vacation with their entire family. Maritza said everyone knew about Wil’s plan except her and she was beyond excited when he dropped down to his knee right outside of their beach house.
Maritza & Wil first met as 18yr olds working at K-Mart. Their lives took separate paths at the time but they remained friends throughout the years, losing contact here and there. After almost 18 years, they reconnected and began dating.
As their wedding day approaches, they are most excited to celebrate their love with all of their family & friends, those who will be there with them and those in spirit. I can’t wait to photograph Wil & Maritza’s NJ wedding.

Bridgewater Manor wedding photos/Bridgewater Photographer/Vanessa & John

The Bridgewater Manor played host to Vanessa & John’s winter wedding festivities which featured holiday/christmas decor such as decorated trees, mistletoes, wreaths, some santa decor and of course featured this beautiful bride and groom exchanging vows , sharing their first dance and celebrating with family and friends. It was my pleasure to be Vanessa & John’s wedding photographer on what turned out to be a great night that flowed smoothly thanks to the staff at Bridgewater Manor and the bridal party helping to create some great memories as we captured some great wedding photos.

Grand Marquis Wedding Photos/Old Bridge Photographer/Brandie & Joe
From the very first meeting, I knew Brandie & Joe were going to be a great couple to work with. Our engagement shoot at Allaire State Park only set the tone for the great wedding day photos at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, NJ. For his ceremony entrance with his groomsmen, Joe wanted to come out with a little “edge”, so he had them don bandanas, shades and black hats as they walked out to Brantley Gilbert’s “Kick it to the Sticks”. Brandie & her ladies kept it a little more traditional. During our cocktail shoot, we had a little fun on rt 9 creating our version of the Beatles famed Abbie Rd walking shot. Â Everything about Brandie & Joe’s wedding day was perfect, from the weather to the ceremony and the music and then of course, their family & friends.

Oakside Bloomfield Cultural Center Wedding Photos/Bloomfield Photographer/Monique & Shaun

Monique & Shaun’s NJ wedding at the Oakside Bloomfield Cultural Center/Oakside Mansion was a pleasure to capture for my wife & I. Having grown up down the block and previously capturing a couple of weddings there before, I knew we would be able to get some great photos. Monique & Shaun’s bridal party, family and friends were so awesome and relaxed. They made us feel like a part of the family as everything about the day was perfect, from the weather which despite the chill that required heavy coats for some, was ten times better than the projected rain to the ceremony and the party that saw a full dance floor throughout the night. Oakside’s staff was just as great to work with as they kept the proceedings moving smoothly and even provided the great looking wedding cake.

Pierre’s of South Brunswick Wedding Photos/South Brunswick, NJ photographer/Elisa & Harold

Elisa & Harold enjoy traveling, so they felt what better way to share one of their passions with their guests. Instead of the traditional table numbers, they gave each table a different city in the world and the place cards were suitcases with the guests names and their respective city. The giant map/guest sign “book” showing a heart over NJ where Harold was born and a heart over Colombia where Elisa was born will be hung up in their dining room. Their Colombian coffee bag favors represented their Colombian heritage. All of these details were put together by B Delighted Events, which is the shared business ownership of Elisa & her sister/maid of honor. The flower arrangements were meant to look like martini drinks with a straw. Elisa & Harold chose Pierre’s of South Brunswick because Elisa grew up going to Pierre’s when it was a small deli and felt choosing the location that held such great childhood memories for her would only bring her life experiences at the location to a full circle as she would now create wonderful memories as an adult. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church was where Elisa’s family attended during her youth, where she had her confirmation and where Elisa & Harold’s daughter/flower girl was baptized, so it just felt right to have their wedding at a church that has meant so much in their lives. After meeting with Elisa & Harold for their NJ wedding photography, I was more than excited to learn my wife and I would be a part of capturing their wedding memories as their photographers. When we arrived at the Staybridge Suites for Elisa & Harold’s bridal/groom prep, they were the perfect cool and collected bride and groom just budding with anticipation for their big day.

Firefighter NJ Wedding Photos/Pompton Lakes, NJ Photographer/Dana & Rob
Dana & Rob’s Pompton Lakes backyard wedding was filled with love, friends, food and drink and best of all, a fire truck. What more could you ask for?! With Rob being a firefighter, it was only fitting to have the neighborhood firehouse send over a fire truck for us to use for wedding photos. Toss in a nearby lakeside park for additional photos and a chance for the kids to have fun, let alone also allow the adults to bring out their inner child by playing on the swings, monkey bars and roundabout. Dana and Rob’s wedding day had everything you could ask for and it was my pleasure to be their wedding photographer.
